REMEDIAL MASSAGE

Remedial massage is a form of soft tissue therapy used to restore function to muscles, tendons, fascia and other connective tissue.   

Remedial massage aims to treat the underlying cause as well as associated symptoms of dysfunction. It can be used to treat injury, immobility, pain, discomfort, muscle tension or soreness, by removing blockages, damaged cells and scar tissue and increasing blood and lymph flow to encourage healing.  The use of cupping and dry needling are available where required and with consent. Stretching and exercise prescription is provided dependant on your needs.

LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE MASSAGE

The lymphatic system is the body’s filtration system.
Fluid (lymph), is transported through lymphatic vessels and filtered at the lymph nodes where waste products (toxins) are removed and and immune response is mounted. The filtered lymph is then returned back to the blood stream. Stagnant lymph nodes or poorly filtering lymph can cause inflammation, fluid retention, cellulitis, aching joints, increased occurrence of bacterial and viral infections, aching joints, skin changes (rashes and itchiness), fat malabsorption, bloating and fatigue.

Lymphatic drainage massage is a gentle form of massage encouraging the movement of lymph around the body. to reduce swelling and inflammation.
